Hi Tinroad,
As you said, "What I personally would like to see is high speed IR networking of the Digeplayers so that they could also offer web access, satellite TV, etc. without needing additional FAA certs"

I agree with the IR networking and I add, "International Gaming" (were available) is also a potential moneymaker.

Also, security was a big issue for Twentieth Century Fox. MicroOS, as you know, is extremely secure (big grin). In my opinion, that's where we will shine and be very attractive to other big content providers. Anti-Piracy is a big issue for them. As we used to chant..."content is king".

Also, I was wondering about this.... As far as the digeplayer itself, I was thinking it should be used as a stand-alone embedded or portable system, just like it is now, not depending on a server for realtime content (movies). But, adding a "media server" as a main file distributor, wireless hotspot for web access, firewall, and router for quick uploads to the players and for maintenance, etc....

I like the idea of having the digeplayer with it's own hard drive storage for content. Because if the server goes down, or the network connection is faulty, you have a mess on your hands. Nobody gets to use their player and that makes for a very ill crowd.

I also like the idea of having a dual network connection. In this case redundancy is a good thing... One, having it wired using fiber optics for the embedded system (because of weight and speed) and two, a wireless IR connection for realtime access. I believe one could be a backup for the other, in case of failure.

On the embedded system, I would like them to be able to use connectors without hard wiring the units. The ability to "pop" the units in and out of the casing for maintenance or exchange.

Those a just a few of my thoughts and wanted to pass them by you. What do you think?

Best returns my friend,
