The data indicates that both image-guided systems are highly accurate for pedicle screw placement even in challenging cases. The two methods also revealed no statistical difference in results. Based on the results of this comparative study, the fluoroscope image-guided system should be considered the first line image guided tool for lower thoracic and lumbosacral pedicle placement because it offers the advantages of real-time navigation and simple application and does not require preoperative CT scan images.
