Good points and some bad points

Personally I thought that the CC went rather well. It was informative, officially answered some questions and confirmed some thoughts. But lets face it, how many tough questions did you hear? I didn't. But I will agree that I am happy it was and remained low key. Hopefully this will help open the door to more in the future.

One specific item I would like to have addressed but did not have the opportunity. That is RCN. If you polled people accross this great country and asked how many were familiar with Comcast, do you think many would be? Or how about Dish Network? And lets not forget Direct Tv. Yes many would be familiar with these names, wether they had used there services or not. Outside of its limited market area, how many do you really think would be familiar with RCN? Honestly. Not hope, not wish, but honestly think. Yea.

Not to long ago I spent the afternoon in the Castro.
Was surprised how few were familiar with RCN. Or what it even was.

As we criss cross the country there are many many small cable networks. Many successful and doing a great job. But none the less, a very limited market share. Thats where RCN fits.

Please don't misunderstand me, I think that the arangement with RCN is GREAT. But minor. We have to start some place. And yes, RCN had the means to drop us into some absolute major key markets in the country. But when they are in a shared market such as San Francisco, and the peninsula, they struggle to compete with the likes of the big guys. They just do not have enough market share to carry us the the level or point to which we need. Frank and company need to get us to one of the nationwide carriers and soon.

It is my sincere hope that the reason we have not seen a major media blitz as yet is because they are holding it back until they do anounce a major carrier. Which would make sense.

I don't mean to rain on anybodies prade, but lets quit piddleing down our leg about broadcasting coverage, via RCN.
I cannot speak for Boston, (perhaps Skunks could help us here) or New York, nor anywhere else that RCN covers, but I can speak about San Francisco, and believe me, it's no big deal. No not even in the "Castro," one of, if not the largest gay markets on the west coast. Not to mention most visable. Come on Frank, you have some serious work cut out for you. And I for one, wish you the best with it. We all have a lot rideing on it.

But I will not be disillusioned by unrealistic hopes.
I always have to ask, do I really THINK? Or do I just HOPE or Wish?
