They are capitalizing on it.

What use is it to have a certification ... if you never capitalize on it???

The 'value' of the certification is not what it brings to the marketplace but the effect it has on the investment community.

We can't go more than a couple of days without someone touting the EPA certification as 'proof' that the company is guaranteed to succeed. No matter how many times it is explained or how many other companies without certification install approved systems, the investors still buy into it.

I think it was a perfect move to obtain the certification. Realize that any company in the business of installing these systems is well aware of the redundancy of the certification. Obviously they had another motive.
