The person we seek will, under general supervision, prepare payroll for non-exempt & exempt employees on a bi-weekly basis. The successful candidate must be detailed oriented and have two years of experience using ADP and Report smith. Experience with ezLabor Manager and out-of-state employees highly desired. The candidate must also have extensive knowledge of both California and Federal wage & hour laws and have the ability to accurately convey proper timekeeping practices to the appropriate personnel.
12/01/09 Manager Purchasing - Capstone Turbine, the world’s leading producer of very low-emission microturbine systems used for onsite power production, has an immediate opening in our Chatsworth, CA office for a Manager Purchasing. The person we seek will manage all purchasing functions. Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by Capstone. Analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supply to reduce costs and improve quality. Develop strategic agreements by commodity for all materials to ensure overall best value with just in time quality products. Drive major supplier base reductions while meeting target cost reduction goals. Establish supplier managed inventory programs for all low dollar hardware and non-subcontract type hardware. Establish purchasing policies and procedures that meet all compliance requirements. Aggressively develop, execute and track supplier rating system to improve cost effectiveness and reduce defects / late deliveries. Facilitate the overall effectiveness of the company's purchasing effort by maintaining the proper balance of individual performance accountability and team-oriented activities. Be willing to travel. Demonstrate strong analytical and strategic skills coupled with a focus on results and data management. Be knowledgeable in a variety of software systems (SAP experience preferred), Microsoft Office) and capable of generating accurate reports for reliable information to be used in key decision-making processes.
Bachelor’s degree in a business related area, technical area a plus. Eight to ten years purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment to include experience with moderate volume manufacturing products and sourcing mixed commodities. APICs certification preferred and ABILITY TO SPEAK CHINESE IS A DEFINITE PLUS

The person we seek will maintain the credibility and integrity of the Company’s general ledger by properly managing certain aspects of the general accounting function and internal controls. Assist the Controller in providing analysis and compliance work for internal and external parties. This person will supervise the Accounts Payable function, manage and maintain the SOX documentation and fixed assets, prepare and file multi-state Sales & Tax returns, month end journal entries and prepare monthly account reconciliations/bank reconciliations.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of GAAP and ERP systems. SAP preferred.
