Sierra Leone Provided with $4 Million by World Bank for Mining Technical Assistance Project
The development objective of the Mining Technical Assistance Project for Sierra Leone is to build Government’s capacity to improve management and regulation of the mining sector. There are three components to the project. The first component of the project is overarching regulatory frameworks for the mining sector. The objective of this component is to improve the regulation of the mining sector. This component provide government officials managing the mining sector with an environment and social screening process guidance that will enable the Government to identify, assess, and mitigate potential negative environmental and social impacts of downstream projects at the planning stage
