Why would you expect management to PR in response to a rumor on an internet message board about a grant, especially when said message board doesn't really even know which specific grant(s) was/were applied for?

Are you expecting a christmas card from the company too? Maybe it will be one of those that plays a song when you open it, like Tom Petty's The Waiting Is the Hardest Part :)
