The sad part is how our govt uses them.

WW2, and justified conflicts, South Korea if we would have never gone further north than the 38th parallel, and Desert Storm if we would have finished it then, and got Saddam.

WW1?, Vietnam, Bush's call to go into Iraq following 911, and so many other unjustified skirmishes. If WW1 would have never happened WW2 probably would not have occurred.

Its kind like this country never learns, never learns to stay out of conflicts which cost this country more harm than good. Until we have a govt that has the backbone to clean up its own backyard this stuff will continue.

Those who pay have been the untold numbers of American lives, and wounded, and many for life, its unimaginable what this does to American families, and these individuals.

The monetary losses have been trillions, and much of it borrowed from countries whose policies we are against, and whose system we have fought against, it beyond ironic, its insane.

Money that needed not to be borrowed, but our own that could have been used for every kind of project under the sun here at home, security being one. Instead we go off to fight everyone else's battles who were capable of fighting for themselves, even Iraq, like Iran if the people are really tiered of tyranny.

We should be thankful that we still have soldiers who are willing to fight, and who are doing what they do for all the right reasons, but the problems that have existed way to long are the politics use of them for all the wrong reasons. In the interim Congress reduced our military forces, and our bases to a shell of what they once were. With all the air and sea power we have and not use them when we have a theater like Afghanistan is baffling?. There is no such thing as a nice war, and its this mentality that cost American lives. If we would have kept our nose out of the Russian-Afghan conflict 911 may have never occurred. The Chinese have a military force that no one on earth with all the countries combined could overcome in a ground war, but the govt don't use them unless for defense. We all know where American corporations have fled to and will continue, and even the ones leaving the service will come home to find a difficult job market. Corporations that have benefitted from the govts role in the use of our military.

Something else I will never understand is our govt giving up the Panama Canal?. One of the greatest of all construction undertakings by any president, but Teddy Roosevelt did it. The money, and loss of lives to create it lost its meaning to our new founded govt, not so new when we think of Thurman, and Byrd. How ridiculous it all is to give these kind of careers to them that last a half or more century.

One term for a Senator, 2 for a Congressman. The president only gets 2. The American people should be relentless in making this the law of the land.
