"We all take the company at their word as per the PR's..."
When the company makes claims that are clearly too good to be true and their claims are further inconsistent with previous and more receint filings, why would you or, as you claim "we all" (meaning all of the company's shareholders), accept the company's press releases at face value?
It seems to me that would be a good time to perform additional investigation (AKA "DD") as to whether the company's claims have any accurate basis.
