HUNTINGTON BEACH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Advanced Clean Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: ACTH - News) disclosed today that its wholly owned subsidiary, American Petroleum Solutions, Inc. (APS), will join with a private oil production company to test its patented, aqueous, non-hazardous, chemical reagent, remediation fluids for recovery of heavy oil in Kern County, California. The fluids have been used for over 15 years as a part of an environmental and soil remediation process for a number of clients, including some of the country’s largest oil and gas companies. The upcoming tests will determine if the process can successfully reduce the thickness and viscosity of oil at the depth of the sandstone reservoirs present in Kern County. Kern County currently provides approximately 66% of all the oil produced in California, 10% of the total oil production in the entire United States, and about 1% of the total world oil production.

The current oil recovery method for this heavy oil is steam injection into the ground to heat the oil. If effective, our process could provide significant benefits in the cost and efficiency of production of the existing oil reserves. Results of the tests, which could take several months, will be announced when concluded.”
