The MM's have been playing with us for some time now. Normally when they do this to a stock it is because of

#1. They know something will move the stock and so they are trying to create a panic in the market (as with today's opening) or move it in a certain direction. They will say that they are creating a liquid market, but what they are creating is liquid gold for themselves.

OR

#2. The company is working with the MM's (supplying them with shares) to raise capital.
