I'm betting quite a bit of this was short covering. They've been pushing this thing down every chance they get and wouldn't let it up for air anytime. It could also be that LTF is in place and the word went out so that the bigs could take their positions before the run up. We may see people like webtime, bighammer and others disappear now for awhile. JMHO
