Thanks for the link. Although I wasn't aware of a problem with obese patients fitting into CTand MRI donuts, there is a whole new area called bariatric (obese) care and companies are developing products to meet the need. When I go onto my hospital now I see extra wide wheel chairs beside the more normally sized ones. Many products are being designed to suit our obese population and, as you guess, I woulld also guess there is probably someone making certain that their imaging equipment meets this need.

My very limited understanding of X-Rays suggests that obese patients may require higher power levels which may further stress equipment and require mnore robust design. Maybe some of you professionals in this field can comment on that.
