You’re at lunch with a client. While discussing ideas for his latest promotional products campaign, the waiter brings your food and some napkins, all plain white except the one on top. A black-and-white code is printed in the middle with the words “Click here for savings.” You pull out your cell phone and open the camera. Point, shoot, click. Up pops a coupon for 15 percent off your meal. Before the waiter even hands you your bill, you show him the coupon on your cell phone. Not only did you nail the details for your client’s campaign, but you also saved money on lunch, all thanks to a little thing called a 2D code.

has to be the stupidest use of a 2D code....

instead of the waiter giving you a napkin with a 2D code to save 15% why would he not just say, you can save 15% today, or give you a coupon...
