I am not sure that you understand how share structure works. The O/S shares are part of the A/S. They are the A/S shares that have been issued to the market as restricted or free trading shares. They can only retire A/S shares that have not been issued. They can also buy back some of the O/S shares and retire them which would reduce the float. Or they can retire share held in treasury.
