Beyond Candlesticks is basically an overview of the first one but it touches on 3 types of Japanese charting techniques not often utilized here in the US. Kagi, 3 line break and renko charts. They focus on significant price moves and are useful in determining overall market trend. They require only closing prices so they are efficient in providing a technical analysis tool for markets that require only closing prices such as mutual funds and yields on financial instruments such as T-bonds. I highly recommend this book.
