I feel for you. My Dad had terrific pain 30 yrs ago before he died. Those narcotics have bad side effects. Why not let people try something natural. I believe it has to do with how much money the big pharma give the politicans. But I think times are changing to to use natural things- organic foods, pesticides and etc. You live in the conservative area of the country. I was borned and raised and lived in the Midwest and now in CA. I am not sure what area is better. Lets hope this new leglization movement is handled right to get it in all states. States need money so it will happen this time
