Whether the licenses were sold outright or for a percentage really doesn't matter. All the money goes to Dutchess.
I expect that DNAPrint is mentioned in the announcement because it is not a new test. It is a fairly small market with a limited number of players. The test and its characteristics have been around for years. If a new player arrives on the scene with a test that everyone is familiar with it makes sense to connect the dots and let everyone know it is the same test with the same origins.
Might as well leverage as much of the name recognition as possible.
