Right after I graduated Infantry School I caught a cab in Columbus, GA (Ft. Benning) The driver was an older white guy, we talked for a bit, picking me up on post, he knew I Army so we talked about the military. Being right after 9/11 he talked in generalities about his deployment in SE Asia.
I was like oh, Underwater Demo, sounds like a crazy job. In enemy ports, sabotaging boats and equipment. He paused, well I was on orders for "destruction related activities," I don't know if I can ever tell folks what "projects" I worked on. Even now thirty plus years later. Those "projects" are still classified. I believe him 100%.
I also believe him when he said the SEALS thought his crew was insane!
