When a stock with no volume begins to surge understand that several entities combine forces ie 1k-5k buys each early in day to drive up price for other people to get in and then gradually sell off. The ones who bought at the top are the losers in these plays. From what I have seen these plays do not happen on large float stocks due to the fact it takes more capital infusion to raise PPS. One can make money on pump/dumps only if one knows from the beginning what is going on and outplays the players which very much means forgo chasing 150% one day gain and get in/out with 35-70% gain.
