exactly, I have many times put in a buy order at higher than the big on many stocks and my big not posted or filled, in fact I have put in a buy at the ask before and it has not filled for a period of 30 mins or more. Tells me that they manipulate the bid and ask to their liking and it doesnt really reflect what people are willing to buy or sell for. More likely reflects what the MM's want you to sell for or what they want to buy for.
