Spark, I think all of us

seek information from stock message boards and most want to hear both the good and the bad. But we also want to know, if at all possible, if the information being posted is from a reliable source. I personally am as cautious about someone who pumps a stock as I am about those who bash it.

But perhaps the most important thing I can know about either is their true motivation. If it is sincere and honest it makes a great deal of difference to me as to how I evaluate it. If there is reason to believe the poster or posters have ulterior motives I dismiss what they say out of hand. Does'nt matter to me if it's pro or con.

And since there seem to be more and more posters on boards with hidden agendas I find it extremely helpful if someone points a potential problem to me. I am perfectly capable of deciding whether the informing party is being diligent or spiteful but when it's someone I know and trust like Ragingmouse I pay particular attention. Part of any DD is to validate sources of information and if seemingly good information is coming from a source with questionable integrity, I want to know it.
