yes, but the companies that have provided so called research on Cobra are NOT research companies, so your statement is just obfuscation. That is the whole essence. What actual research companies do or do not do, has nothing to do with what the companies who talk about Cobra do -- since, duh, they are not research companies. They are paid for promoters, as they themselves say.
As to actual research firms, they make money off research, but they are not paid for the research by the companies they research.
