LC, in my experience these laws only affect the way in which funeral homes charge fees. They are not prohibited from charging a handling fee if the casket requires them to do so. Also, while the law prohibits them from forcing the bereaved to buy a package, etc., it does not prohibit them from offering substantial "discounts" should they choose to go with the package they are offering. It's all in how it's presented.
As for Walmart or Amazon or Costco being involved in the distribution of caskets/urns for EI, I am not opposed to it. I am concerned about the bottom line as a shareholder, and I don't believe these retailers will ignore "good taste & respect" in offering these goods.
