The study was 1982.

One of the posts (recent research to produce a JCV test) suggested that the older tests of BKV was producing false positives for JCV and that with better tests, JCV background rate was closer to 50%.

On prior immunosuppressant increasing risk of developing PML when treated with Tysabri:

I assume that Copaxone is an immunosuppressant. But I am not at all sure that it is an immunosuppressant that is implicated in increasing the risk of PML from Tysabri. BIIB gave us good reason to suspect Avonex and by extention the beta interferon class.

Is there any data (or rationale) to suggest that Copaxone also increases PML risk when Tysabri treatment follows Copaxone?
