Are you honestly suggesting that the government does things cheaper than the private sector? I'm shocked that anyone can believe such a concept but since you posted it for all to see....

Your first point: You are saying that it costs more to station a soldier overseas than at home? That is self-evident. It doesn't matter who is providing the services, it costs WAY more when you have to send it halfway around the world.

Second: $400 gallon gas. Again, it costs a crap load to send it around the world it doesn't matter who is shipping it.

Third: You don't know anything about the costs to keep a US soldier in the field if you think contractors cost more.
In EVERY case contractors cost 30-90% less than a US soldier to field.

The only real comparison of private VS federal in your three points is the third, and the facts contradict your own contention! LOL! Private soldiers cost WAY less than Federal! lol.

(I don't think we should privatize the army btw, as an army IS one of the ares our government SHOULD take care of).
