Jade: Mobeam is an LED technology which emits a scannable barcode to an infrared scanner. NeoMedia does not play here. However, what is interesting is their business plan is almost identical to Cue Cat. While it certainly some cool stuff, I am not sure this is the best of use of the technology. Why do I want to carry around a USB/LED contraption on my keychain when all I have to do is enter my phone number today?

The retailer value prop is Mobeam combats coupon fraud from barcode switching schemes. That may be a big enough problem to make this work.
