John, thats what is confusing me. I may be in 1400 meters of water but do I drill it, dosen't drilling start at the sea floor. I just put together 1400 meter of casing till I get down there and attach to the well head?

Rigzone says that Deepwater Pathfinder can drill in 10,000 ft of water with a drilling depth of 30,000 ft. Sedco 702 can drill in 6500' of water with a drilling depth of 25,000, do these totals include water depth?
