Rumor Round Up

With what has been an extremely slow rumor week, today we have gotten our first set of rumors to start the morning.

It was rumored this morning that PPL Corp (PPL 30.47 -0.27) was seeing interest from FirstEnergy (FE 45.91 -0.55). PPL's stock has not reacted favorably to this rumor.

In other utility chatter, it was rumored that Exelon (EXC 50.31 +0.26) was the recipient of a carbon credit windfall. However unlikely the rumor is, the shares did see some initial strength, but have given up since.

It was also rumored that Astellas, Japan's second largest pharmaceutical company, was showing interest in Nektar Therapeutics (NKTR 9.26 -0.03).Like many of today's rumors however the shares have not held on to their gains.
