why wouldn't shorts have covered by now? because when they cover, it becomes a taxable profit. since they expected company to never succeed, and price to remain subpenny forever, that's why they didn't cover. were they being pigs - absolutely. but now, they may be forced to cover - like it or not - when name change kicks in.
