He said the same basic things Bush said when he claimed we can't win the war on terror,
here's what Bush said

less acceptable, nuisance, similar things, what they are both saying is right, the quote war on terror is just like war on drugs, useless, there will always be terrorists, you try to make life as rough as possible and kill as many as you can, while at the same time reduce the conditions that enables them to recruit more
are you going to win a war on terror, there is no country to defeat, there is no stated real objective like with the IRA that you can negotiate on, so you crackdown on financing etc, kill as many as you can, have a sane foreign policy that reduces recruits
but your blind following of one party does not allow you to see that both men are saying the same thing
