We, as investors, are restricted in our knowledge of what is truly occurring within an organization. However, we can relate one organization to another, assuming both conduct similar business. In this manner we are able to eliminate undesirable investment ideas, and isolate few the market unjustly overlooked. With the doubtful small banks, solvency is the key. The cash to debt ratio, that is, do the books suggest this bank will survive this economic environment? With a $9M market cap and $45M in cash, Dearborn Bancorp may just do that.
