Plunge Protection Team = Soc.Sec.Fix.

If the PPT doesn't exist it should/could be created and funded by our Social Security Program which needs to be fixed. When the NYSE is swapped by sellers with few buyers looking beyond their noses, it would be a good thing the US and the rest of the world IMO.

Politically more voters own stocks in one form or another than at anytime before. Most Americans believe in the future growth of America and its major corporations will lead the way. Why then should our Soc Security system not be allowed to share in that growth? A 10 to 25 % stream of funding to invest is the broad SP 100 or 500 would be the cushion we need at times like these and may help solve the predicted drain on SS fund in the future.

As far as the idea of the little investor never returning to the market for 20 years as in 1929, I think that is way overblown. In fact I didn't become addicted to stocks until I plunged by total gains into a margin account and bought 240 shares of Syntex at 89 because of their new birth control pill.-- then watched it drop 10 points one day and 10 more points a few days later. That was the spark I needed and have been hooked ever since.
Have a nice weekend all!
