This is a question I have, as well. Is CTIA the only authority in granting this status? Have they indicated when they might make a decision about the clearinghouse(s)?

Wait and see isn't an answer. We're already waiting to see. We want to know specifically what we're waiting for and what we're going to see. Is Neustar's current clearinghouse status for shortcodes and the like enough to just sort of default them into the position, or is there a competition going on? Weren't applications recently taken for the clearinghouse? Verisign was one of the applicants along with NSR. HAs a decision date been given for that process?
