"If S.C. State receives the grant, it would be the lead organization in a consortium, along with the Penn Center, the Williamsburg County Development Board and Sentinel Renewable Energy. "

1.Williamsburg County Development Team...

The Williamsburg County Development Board was created to provide leadership in the recruitment, retention, and development of new and existing business and industry in Williamsburg County. The Development Board works with local, state, and federal officials to create and maintain a pro-business environment for new and existing companies.

Williamsburg County has proven success in attracting companies to our area. Our large pool of available labor, workforce training programs that lead the nation, and a pro-business attitude are the major reasons for our success.

2.Penn Center’s Mission

The Penn Center's mission is to promote and preserve the history and culture of the Sea Islands. We serve as a local, national and international resource center, and act as a catalyst for the development of programs for self-sufficiency.

Penn Center operates the History and Culture Program, the Land Use and Environmental Education Program, the Program for Academic and Cultural Enrichment(PACE) and partners with the University of South Carolina—Beaufort to offer the Early Childhood At Risk Initiative.

3. SRE

Certainly would make a great consortium.
