His actions cannot be justified by his Christian beliefs. He acted very normal in his temptation to participate in his sin of wrongdoing. He acted as most would believe "irrational" as far as most people would react that are trying to abide by God's laws.

The Evangelical Prosperity Doctrine as you call it or I would call it The Law of Reciprocity does not have anything to do with the decision to err.
