sylvester80: Congrats to you for making money today. Of course the big boyz day trade, but the method you used to create a trend line much less your channel is just plain incorrect.

I decided to not refer you to my charts, as that would seem self serving. However, you might check out this example of how to draw trend lines. You should note that lows are connected to lows to identify support and that highs are connected to highs to illustrate resistance.

Unfortunately, I've seen several tutorials (online and books) that illustrate how to draw trends lines way to loosely or just plain incorrectly to the point it causes the hair on the back of my neck to stand up...(gg) So, I can see how folks are learning how to draw trend lines incorrectly.

The reason the following web site is one of my favorites is because Kevin Matras "knows" how to draw a trend line and trend lines are how you illustrate the controlling boundaries of most chart patterns.
