I would donate the shares to charity. All of the brokerage firms have programs setup for share gifting. The charity and the brokerage firm may get a little ticked at you for having to eat the commission but it's a good way to get worthless shares with unhappy memories off the books so that you won't be reminded of your shortcomings every time you look at your brokerage account.
