Lets hope he begins to understand what Israel already knows. Lebanon will likely fall into the hands of the Hezbollah its security chief Wafiq Safa has vastly increased his authority in Lebanon's military, and making gains politically. Its present Druze leader Walid Jumblatt head of Lebanon's Progressive Socialist Party threatened to withdraw from the ruling March 14 alliance. He has now backed away from his traditional hostility toward Syria, and moving away from his pro-western forces in favor of Iran.

Obama did state that all US combat troops are scheduled to leave Iraq in August of next year, as US troops wind down, Islamic terrorist are moving into the Gaza Strip. It was reported in August that dozens of Sunni Muslim terrorist had entered Gaza during the previous 12 months.

If this does indeed occur Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki government is dominated by Shite may likely make more concessions with Iran which is Shite. If Obama follows up with this Iran is believed to fill that void. This should not surprise anyone. I said on more than one occasion that leaving Saddam in power during Desert Storm was a huge mistake, and going back a decade later was worse yet. Iran has grown in leaps and bounds with their military arsenal during the last 8 years, and Russia has been their supplier.

Iran was always the larger threat in the region, and always will be. Israel is right in the middle of all this, and a tiny country at that. Obama will have to make some hard line decisions in the months to come. He will leave it all go or take some drastic measures to curtail Iran's ambitions. Going into Iraq a decade later, and for the wrong reasons will all blow up in the US face someday. What will all of it have accomplished if they unite in some way with Iran, will we go back again?.........whats to stop them? Although it did make fortunes for alot of US corporations, and those at the top. No doubt some US politicians.

He needs the "right" Nato forces to back him. He needs the full support of Pakistans govt and military, or they may risk falling victim to there own homegrown terrorist. If Obama pulls out of Afghanistan, and perhaps he should if he is wavering on sending more troops, and then change US policy about what we will do or not do in the future regarding countries who are not full fledged supporters of the US. This means no money and no military support of any kind.

The UK is encouraging Palestinian settlement in east Jerusalem adding more tension, financing projects to halt Israeli settlement activities.............Guess they have forgotten all to well what occurred in WW11. They are driving a wedge against Israeli-British relations.

We should have pursued Bin Laden, the world at large would have understood that, but no one will ever accept our going into Iraq. It made no sense, we had no legitimate reasons for doing so a decade later. It came on the heels of 911, and Iraq had oil.

Russia and China is to Iran's east. One of the biggest mistakes our govt made in opposition to Russia was the supply of US weaponry to Bin Laden, and the Afghan forces. Russia could have been a real player on the side of the US, instead its kinda like tit for tat, like the old saying you never know what friends you may need someday. IMO they cannot be trusted, nor are they of real concern to Iran other than what they can sell them.........Iran doesn't need Russian oil, but can sell its own oil to China.

If we would have stayed out of wars that posed no security risk to the US, and which ones have since WW11?, Korea has been kept in check, the Cuban missile crisis ended. Just think of what good could have been acomplished in our own country during the last 45 years. For all that was said, and all that was done around the world did nothing to give us the kind of home security we should have, like Israel has, and if we had 911 may have not happened. The US has created alot of enemies in the world, and this alone should have made these borders the safest in the world. US/Mexico borders are still wide open, and our ports lack the kind of real security measures that we should expect from anyone shipping from abroad.
