I was doing spots of that in the 90s - find a promoter who can move a stock and see what others are in his fold. Aka Robert Friedland.. (though I wasn't that proficient at it - and nowadays with the net it makes things easier finding "connections")

I prefer this method instead of the "Voisey's Bay" - "So Diamond Fields Resources found something so why not someone else?" method.

Both can work - but a smart promoter, in my experience, isn't just throwing darts..
