We had a garage sale 20 years ago. It was mostly my stuff out there just like that article said. We are now much MUCH wiser. We scour the neighbourhood looking for weekend garage/yard sales. Then on Monday mornings, we go by those same houses & see what they have thrown out that didn't sell and get the same crap that they were selling, for free. So now, we have a ton of useless shit lying around. We (I) have lugged wrought iron fireplace thingys, lawn furniture, plant stands, tables, chairs etc. There is an organic hamburger joint near us that recently closed up. Every morning, we walk by it & there are/were two wrought iron plant stands outside the premises that my wife wants to "free". I tell her that that is stealing. So she calls the Baliff to try & buy just these 2 stands. He tells her that either buy everything or nothing. The other morning we walk by and one is gone..."See?" she says? "I told you we should have taken both of them!". So now we are arguing about the remaining one & one of our early morning buddies walks by. He asks what we're arguing about. So I tell him & he says...you can't take that, that's stealing! LMAO. Needless to say, the rest of the walk was in silence.
