Oil, close but not quite right! In a large part, the Republicans over the past 6 years did not move tot he middle, they moved beyond it. They became just as bad as the liberals with their desire to spend and that is why they were voted out. In many cases, they were replaced with far more conservative dems.

Now the leadership of the Dem party is taking them beyond their old spending ways, =searching for total wealth distribution/Socialism.
