Bear in mind that prior to every time they run casing/liner, they will pull drill pipe out of the hole, condition the mud system (i.e. condition the walls of the open hole) for as much as 24 hrs., run logs and side wall cores. If there are indications of hydrocarbons they will run a wireline "formation tester" to guage hydrocarbon type and formation pressure in reservoirs. Since they have only a limited number of hyrocarbon "Jugs" in each tester, they may run more than one, but I doubt it as log responsees should correlate one horizon to another.

After testing, they'll pull out of the hole, recondition the hole, run casing/liner, cement the casing/liner shoe and wait for the cement to set. This is big iron that they are hustling around and it's slow going no matter how good the crews are.

This could take a week of no new hole. After all, this is the only time that you can evaluate this section of open hole so get all of the info that you can.

Cheers,
Larry
