Seems as though you don't know anything about Medicare Advantage Sox. The program was put in place to acheive many of the same goals that the new health care reforms are touting, mainly prevention as opposed to just treatement after the fact. Many of the plans provided health club memberships, paid for preventative services, brain fitness programs and many additional services like eye care and dental, and all promoted healthier lifestyles. The plans emphysised prevention just like what is being promoted now. These plans have only been in place for a few years and just like the new reforms you are not going to see immediate results. The President and congress are saying they aren't getting enought bang for the buck, they originally thought there would be more HMO's created, but the Doctor's and Hospitals wouldn't co-operate that way, now the government is complaining that the seniors are getting too much in these plans and wants to cut the services provided.
