Red Branch Technologies, Inc. Points to Growing Demand for Mobile Clean Water Solutions for U.S. Military Operations
ASHBURN, VA, Sep 23, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Red Branch Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: RBTI) announced today it is targeting the growing demand of the U.S. Military for mobile clean water solutions which include sanitation along with accessibility of clean water in a variety of military locales. Recently, a Red Branch Technologies executive attended the one day United States Marine Corps (USMC) Energy Summit in Washington, D.C. where the Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James T. Conway discussed in detail the strategic energy picture amid the current and emerging operations issues related to asymmetric warfare.
During the discussion it was learned that clean water was second only to fuel delivery at the top of the list for energy savings. Hauling drinkable water to U.S. troops costs almost as much as delivering the fuel needed to power vehicles, generate electricity and provide heating and air conditioning at forward operations bases.
"For these applications the need for clean water and energy savings hits a sweet spot for RBTI's mobile clean water solutions," said Jeff Sirianni, CEO of Red Branch Technologies, Inc. "Our clean water solutions are powered by a combination of sustainable energy sources: solar, wind, fuel cells and batteries."
"Packaged on a mobile platform we can deploy for extended periods of time because we have built in power management capabilities that integrate the multiple sources of energy enabling us to unite energy sources to meet the mission requirements. The forward operators get two advantages: less fuel needed to deliver clean water to the troops and a self powered, clean water capability that does not require fossil fuel to operate. It's a new definition of a win-win scenario."
The purpose behind the summit was to raise awareness and understanding of what the Marine Corps is doing to lessen energy consumption and dependence on fossil fuels and inform people what the Corps is experimenting with, and what the greatest challenges will be. The topics discussed ranged from cutting back on inefficient energy use on the battlefield, operating in an expeditionary environment, energy challenges at installations and attempts to attain self sufficiency and sustainability.
