Right, Value Investing! I agree with your statement

But that gets more into strategy and away from tactics. I view the aforementioned analysis endeavors as more tactical, and fitting into and supporting an overall strategy. Folks who aren't Value oriented can still use TA. In the end TA is just a tool.

I use the Value proposition to narrow the field and then use TA to actually do the timing of the picking. Timing is important because, regardless of the Value, you don't wan't to overpay. So far it has worked out OK for me.
