Micron Posts Back-to-Back Profitable Quarters

DRAM maker Micron Technology Inc. reported Wednesday that Q4 net income came in at $94 million, or 14 cents per share, up from the net loss posted in the year ago period.

In the prior quarter Micron posted net income of $90 million; fiscal Q4 marked the first time in some three years that the company posted back-to-back profitable quarters. The company nevertheless fell short of Wall Street's expectations of 20 cents per share for the September quarter; the company suggested analysts might not have taken into account a drop in prices during the quarter.
