And then there are people like Neal and I who pay big time property tax and the $25K homeowner's exception amount is such a small percentage it almost gets lost in the roundoff. Matter of fact our leader, Mr. Turino (Mrs. Turino now), dosen't even bother declaring his Clearwater place as home and taking his $25K exemption. It's only 1% of $2.5Mil. Still, Fla does have the benefits of no state income tax and low sales tax. We just finished a month of sales tax amnesty. Made gas prices look pretty good for a while. Most of our tax income comes from y'all who come visit us in the winter and pay restaraunt and hotel surcharges out the kazoo. We hate the crowds the snowbirds cause, but we sure love your money. C'mon down!!
