Getting VERY close:
If we all go back and take a little gander at the time lines set forth for Abbott, we will all see that the ACTION should start fairly soon!!!! First, the deal was on the table Feb. 5. Abbott had thirty days to sign. This puts us at March 5.
II. Phase 1 (expected duration 1.5 months): Develop an assay for the 4-gene prostate cancer test in prostate cancer cells present in urine.
O.K., Phase 1 duration Aprx. one point five months, this puts us to Aprx. April 20!!!!
III. Phase 2 (expected duration 2 months): Assess the utility of the 4-gene urine test for prostate cancer detection.
O.K., Phase 2 duration Aprx. two months, this puts us at around June 20!!!!
V. Phase 3 (expected duration 1 month): Determine if DRE performed prior to collection of urine specimens will increase the sensitivity of prostate cancer detection.
O.K., Phase 3 duration Aprx. one month. This puts us around July 20!!!
Phase 4 (expected duration 4 Months): Specificity and Assay Optimization Studies
O.K., Phase 4 duration Aprx. four months. This puts us around November 20!!!! Right around the corner!!!! Now, we were given NO time lines for Quest who is developing the LDA!!!!!! For some reason, I feel that Quest will be the FIRST one out of the gate with this test (jmho). We all know that since Quest will have the LDA for Aprx. a year before FDA approval ( unless they FAST-TRACK it), this is HUGE for Quest!!!! There will be a TON of money involved with this!!!!! Dr. B and company have remained EXTREMELY low profile in all aspects of the buisiness, but I have a gut feeling the doors are about to open and we all will finaly get what we have been waiting for!!!!! Just tryn to keep it real and starting to get a little excited!!!!!!! JMHO!
