Think about it, MSFT uses the '048 patented process (this is just musing here) and NeoMedia knows it. MSFT plays hardball and forces NeoMedia (or whoever would own the patents) to take them to court. That process takes another 2-4 years. Meanwhile, the 2D barcode space heats up and is boiling over. MSFT makes a lot of money. Four years later they lose and have to give over half of what they earned on it BACK to NeoMedia (or whoever would be the patent owners at that time). What's the point?

I was thinking the same thing. If I were MSFT why put up now, I don't have to.
